Behaviour Support Worker
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced member of staff to work with our students in a positive behaviour support role, helping that consistently meet our ‘ready respectful and safe’ expectations. You will be in a unique position to build strong relationships, providing time and space for students to reflect, restore and return where necessary. We are a relational and restorative school and would welcome applications from candidates who want to work differently with young people in a smaller school setting.
Exams Officer
We are seeking a highly organised, meticulous and proactive Exams Officer to play a key role in ensuring the smooth, secure and compliant delivery of all KS4 external examinations and assessments.
This is a vital position responsible for leading and administering all aspects of the external examinations process in line with JCQ and awarding body requirements. You will coordinate exam entries, oversee the secure handling and storage of examination materials, organise logistics including rooming and timetabling, and ensure that all regulatory procedures are followed precisely.
Working closely with curriculum leaders, centre managers and the SEND team, you will ensure that exam access arrangements are appropriately planned and implemented, maintain accurate records, and apply for special consideration where required. You will also support the Head of Centre during inspections, investigations or regulatory visits, and ensure that school policies remain fully up to date with annual changes in guidance.
The role requires excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to remain calm and flexible under pressure, particularly during peak exam periods. You will build positive professional relationships with awarding bodies and external agencies, and ensure all exam processes are delivered with integrity and confidentiality.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience of exams administration — or a strong willingness to develop expertise — to make a meaningful impact within the Altus School community.
English Teacher
This is an exciting opportunity for an English teacher to join our secondary team. You will deliver English to groups of no more than 8 students in our KS4 Eastbrook Centre in Gloucester.
You will be a key member of the secondary team and will have plenty of opportunities to work with teachers and other staff to deliver a KS4 curriculum that supports students’ social and emotional development as much as their academic progress. Students at the Eastbrook Centre have the opportunity to sit GCSE English, as well as Functional Skills qualifications.
